Hi there! I’m Damalia
I share stories about wellness, womanhood, and everything in between. Here, you will find reflections, resources, and reminders that you are not alone.
Welcome, I am glad that you are here. I’ve been learning to navigate life with anxiety for as long as I can remember. My journey with mental health shifted after becoming a mom. Following the birth of my first baby, I was diagnosed with postpartum anxiety and depression. Those early days were filled with struggles, breastfeeding challenges, feeling like I wasn’t enough, and the constant weight of worry. With therapy, medication, and a lot of self-compassion, I began to heal.
When my second baby arrived three years later, I knew to prepare. I leaned on therapy and support again, and while the anxiety still showed up, it wasn’t quite as overwhelming as the first time. Fast-forward eight years, and now I’m a mom to two amazing girls. Anxiety still finds its way into my life, but I’ve discovered tools that help, such as therapy, daily routines, the gym, and most recently, a dance class that brings me joy and motivation.
This blog, WinterGreyBleus, is my third baby. It’s a space where I can share my story, reflect on my ups and downs, and connect with others who may be walking a similar path. I will also have guest bloggers contribute at times. WinterGreyBleus holds a special place in my heart, Winter is my daughter Ava’s middle name, Grey is her big sister Harper’s middle name, and Bleus reflects both the hard days I’ve faced and the resilience that carries me through them. Here, you’ll find me writing honestly about motherhood, marriage, work, relationships, and the everyday balancing act of life all while living with anxiety. Some days are heavy, some are light, but every day is part of the journey.
Thank you for being here. I hope my story reminds you that you’re not alone, and that even in bleus, there can be beauty.
